2012
Secures maiden pole and Grand Prix victory in Spain, becoming first Venezuelan driver to take a Formula One win. Then fails to score in next six races and comes in for repeated criticism from stewards for causing collisions.

2011
Pushes uncompetitive Williams' FW33 into Q3 on three occasions, but races prove less fruitful, yielding just a single point from his rookie F1 season with a tenth place in Belgium.

2010
Crowned GP2 Series champion, becoming only driver to win six successive feature races in a single season. Tests for HRT and Williams F1 teams, landing a race drive with the latter for 2011.

2009
Sixth in GP2 Series with ART Grand Prix. Two wins and two podiums.

2008
Fifth in GP2 Series with Piquet Sports. One win, six podiums, two pole positions and two fastest laps.

2007
Eleventh in GP2 Series with Trident, despite missing eight races through injury. Wins Monaco round.

2006
Third in World Series by Renault, with three wins, six podiums, five pole positions and six fastest laps.

2005
Makes F1 test debut with Minardi in Italy. Competes in World Series by Renault with DAMS and Italian F3000.

2004
Italian Formula Renault 2.0 champion with Cram Competition. Eight wins, 12 podiums, six pole positions, 11 fastest laps.

2003
Seventh in Italian Formula Renault 2.0 with Cram Competition and champion in winter series.
