2012
Team name changes from Team Lotus to Caterham, the sportscar maker owned by team founder Tony Fernandes. KERS-assisted duo Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov seem to have closed the gap to the midfield by mid-season but then trail off. Edge out Marussia for 10th in points.
2011
Switch from Cosworth to Renault power, with Red Bull gearbox and hydraulics, and reinforce position as best of 'new' teams, challenging midfield at some races. Give tester Chandhok one-off race outing in place of Trulli in Germany. Again 10th in final standings.
2010
Lotus name returns to F1 for first time since '94 with all-new, UK-based squad backed by Malaysian consortium. Team quickly establish themselves as best of 2010 newcomers, taking all-important tenth slot in constructor standings.
