2012
Finishes third in his second go at the GP2 Series, scoring three wins and five fastest laps. Spends a second successive season as Sauber's test and reserve driver and is signed to a 2013 race deal by the team at the end of the year.
2011
Finishes 13th in the GP2 Series with one victory to his name. Also acts as Sauber's official test and reserve driver and competes in GP2 Asia.
2010
Scores five wins to become the inaugural GP3 Series champion. Gains more F1 test experience with BMW-Sauber.
2009
Ninth in F3 Euro Series. Despite a disappointing season he tests an F1 car for the first time with BMW-Sauber as a prize for winning the 2008 Formula BMW Europe crown.
2008
Wins the Formula BMW Europe title in dominant fashion with seven wins. Also has outings in Formula Master and German F3.
2007
Second overall in Formula BMW USA with four wins. Also competes in two Formula BMW ADAC races and tests for A1 Team Mexico.
